After consultation with Capri insurance...

We all know that riding horses can be dangerous and so ... It was recommended that the club update our Risk and Release forms. It is now mandatory that the club has a copy of your signed forms before you can participate in club riding events. In the case of minors the parents/gardian will have to sign the forms. If you are joining the club the risk and release forms are part of the membership form download.

It is unfortunate that threats of litigation produce what seems to be such an unfriendly way to work with each other :-(

NSF cheques.

Unfortunately, we have had some NSF cheques and the Credit Union charges a service fee for them; not to mention volunteers have to do some extra running around to get a new cheque issued. Since the club is charged a service fee and it isn't really fair to ask the club = members to eat that, we will be charging $25 for NSF cheques from now on. Also if you Post Date a cheque please tell us so it isn't put through the credit union too early.

To use the Agriplex indoor arena where our clinics and events are held you must be a member of the Horse Council of British Columbia (or Alberta equivalent).

Clinic Expectations!

Important Notice: New Expectations for all 2011 Clinincs

Please Download and read the Clinic Expectations document for 2011. By participating in any DCHC clinics you agree to have read, and agree to abide by these expectations.

Clinics are organized by volunteer effort and it is important that folks realize that organizers need deposits and payment on time; and they need participants to communicate in a repectful and timely manner.

A failure to communicate in a timely manner may mean a person can loose their spot for a clinic or they may forfeit their deposit.

The Dawson Creek Horse Club is open to anyone who Horses around: English or Western. Any member who wants to organize a clinic, show, or other event is welcome to do so. Just bring your ideas and energy to the regular monthly meeting (3rd Thursday of the Month) or contact one of the executive.
